Summary

Though a poisoned blade has already caught her, Sakura keeps her grip on the sword to stop Sasori from slipping away. She urges Chiyo, who was wounded earlier, to use the final antidote, but the old woman instead injects it into Sakura and then falls. Freed from the sword, Sasori turns to finish Chiyo off, only for her to drive the Mother and Father puppets straight into his core, the last scrap of flesh he preserved when he remade himself into a puppet so he could still mould chakra. Chiyo starts to mend Sakura's injuries, and when Sasori remarks that the wound is beyond saving, she reveals she is not healing the girl at all but pouring her own life into her, using a technique she devised to animate the very Mother and Father puppets Sasori will never need again.
