Summary

Kakashi lays out why Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura each came up empty in their attempt to grab a bell: every one of them worked alone. Cooperation was the true aim of the drill, and the recruits were supposed to look past the fact that one of them faced a return to the Academy so they could finish the task as a unit. Their total blindness to that idea nearly convinces Kakashi they are hopeless, yet he grants one more attempt after a break, on the condition that Sasuke and Sakura share no food with Naruto. The moment he steps away, the two ignore him and feed Naruto anyway, reasoning that he needs his strength if all three are to fight together. Kakashi reappears at once and announces that the entire group has passed, proving that standing together matters more than obeying his instructions.
