Chapter 9 (Sasuke Retsuden)

With the horde tightening around them, Sasuke tells Meno to concentrate on the Titan, carves an opening with Chidori Senbon, and hurls the dragon onto the giant's back using Susanoo. Meno charges the warden, but Zansuru escapes on a flying mount and orders his beasts to finish Sasuke fast. Meno instead baits the Titan toward a nearby lake and strikes its legs, toppling the colossus into the water where its bulk leaves it stranded. When Zansuru commands his mount to haul the Titan free, the new order cancels its earlier one to carry him, and the warden plunges to his death. His demise returns the dragons to their default orders to slaughter the prisoners.

Sakura, aided by Penjira and Ganno striking the corpses to block their reincarnated healing, keeps the inmates alive. She flees Jiji only to spring a seal she had quietly placed on him after sensing his ninja chakra, freezing him in place. Realizing Zansuru will never come and that Sasuke and Meno approach instead, Jiji surrenders. He confesses he joined the plot after Redaku's Prime Minister dangled the return of Margo, a palace maid he loved, offered first her freedom to be with him and later her corpse to reincarnate. Sasuke produces Kakashi's letter revealing that King Nanara toppled the Prime Minister with the help of a living woman named Margo, and the crushed Jiji, realizing he was deceived, releases every dragon from its revived body. As the beasts dissolve, Meno embraces Sasuke and vanishes to a peaceful rest.

The chapter closes the dragon conflict of the Sasuke Retsuden adaptation and belongs to the arrangement's second volume. It debuted on Shonen Jump+ on April 9, 2023.
