Everyone's Konoha

Kabuto marvels that Sasuke and Itachi appear to be on good terms despite the hatred that should divide them, suspecting that something passed between the brothers during their duel yet unable to grasp what Sasuke could want from a dead man. When Sasuke says he seeks the truth, Kabuto guesses that Sasuke, already aware of what really happened, grew wary of his brother and stayed clear of Konoha out of a desire to destroy it for the suffering it inflicted on him. Branding Itachi a liar who wiped out the whole Uchiha to shield the village, Kabuto asks whether Sasuke's aims differ at all from his own plan to finish what Orochimaru started. Sasuke recalls overhearing Konoha shinobi disparage Itachi, then declares that, unlike Kabuto, his wish to crush Konoha is entirely his own. Kabuto renounces his old home and offers to become Sasuke's new brother, but Itachi warns Sasuke to ignore him and announces he will invoke one of the clan's supreme visual techniques. Assuming it to be Izanagi, Sasuke questions him, only for Itachi to correct him as he crosses blades with Kabuto using Sasuke's sword, naming it a power capable of deciding destiny.

Kabuto tries to recruit Sasuke by framing Itachi's massacre as loyalty to Konoha. Sasuke insists his ambition to destroy the village belongs to him alone. Itachi prepares Izanami, correcting Sasuke's assumption that it is Izanagi.

The chapter deepens the ideological rift between Sasuke and Kabuto over Konoha and Itachi's legacy. It introduces Itachi's plan to turn Izanami against Kabuto. Viz titled it To Each Their Own Konoha.
