Summary
Furious after Konohamaru collides with him, Kankuro moves to rough the boy up, only for Sasuke to step in. In another part of the village, the jonin leaders put the three rookie teams forward for the Chunin Exams, a decision Iruka Umino openly disputes. Sensing that Sasuke could give him real trouble, Kankuro squares up for a fight, but Gaara shuts the confrontation down.
Curious about the outsiders, Sakura asks what brings a trio of Sand ninja into the Leaf. The visitors explain that the exams offer a chance to climb in rank, then head off, leaving Team 7 intrigued about what lies ahead. Unnoticed by the others, a separate group keeps watch over the whole exchange from the branches of a nearby tree.
