Overcoming "Dull"

Manga ChapterCh. 528

Trapped by a cursed gourd that seals whoever repeats their most-spoken word, Darui races to outmaneuver Ginkaku before his own verbal habits doom him. A desperate scramble for the Sage tools flips the duel, turning a captor into a captive and igniting a brother's fury.

Summary

Darui grasps the danger of the gourd binding him: hold still too long and the seal claims him, yet Ginkaku's weapon triggers the instant a person utters their most-repeated phrase. Ginkaku mocks him as nothing but the Raikage's instrument, but Darui pushes back, declaring himself the Fourth Raikage's trusted right arm rather than a mere implement. The taunt matters because his own careless wording nearly echoes his forbidden term, dull.

Key Events

As the seal begins drawing him in, Darui showers apologies on everyone he can name, which makes sorry the tally-leading word on his lips. He shoves Ginkaku into the binding rope, snatches away both the blade and the gourd, then turns the cursed sword against his foe. Ginkaku cries out for Kinkaku but is pulled helplessly into the vessel. Watching his brother vanish, Kinkaku erupts and unleashes his Version 2 transformation.
