Chapter 253 of the Naruto manga brings Sakura's medical training to the rescue in Sunagakure. With Kankurō poisoned beyond Chiyo's reach, Tsunade's disciple steps in, and fresh backup is dispatched toward the hunt for Gaara.
For all her effort, Chiyo cannot do anything for Kankurō and admits that only Tsunade would have the skill to undo Sasori's poison. Soon after, Team 7 and Temari reach Sunagakure and are briefed on Kankurō's grave state. While Temari goes to his bedside, Sakura, trained under Tsunade, steps forward with an offer to treat him. She draws the poison out of his body and enlists Chiyo to help gather the components for an antidote. Back in Konoha, Tsunade worries that Team 7 may not manage the rescue of Gaara alone, so she orders Team Guy to follow as reinforcements.
Belonging to the Kazekage Rescue Mission arc and collected in volume 28, the chapter highlights Sakura's growth as a medical-nin and sets Team Guy on the path to reinforce Team 7.
