Summary

The recoil of the Front Lotus leaves Lee sluggish, and Gaara seizes the chance to press his assault. Forced to watch his student cornered, Guy's mind travels back to Lee as a child, a boy hopeless at both ninjutsu and genjutsu who nonetheless clung to the dream of becoming a fine shinobi. Rather than let that ambition wither, Guy had steered the boy toward pouring every ounce of his resolve into mastering hand-to-hand combat.

That old investment shows its worth in the present. Having built himself into a taijutsu specialist through sheer grind, Lee snaps back into motion and slips away from Gaara's incoming strikes.
