The Guidepost of Reunion

Catching sight of Itachi, Sasuke gives chase, but his brother will not be turned aside from his purpose. When Sasuke calls up Susanoo to halt him, Itachi answers with a Susanoo of his own, and the two trade words as the pursuit continues.

Elsewhere, a Madara who is knitting himself back together fixes on Tsunade once he registers that she carries Senju blood. He writes her off as a feeble woman who took nothing from Hashirama, insisting that her grandfather outclassed her even in medical ninjutsu, and declaring that he loathes a weak Senju more than a weak person of any kind. Tsunade throws the insult back at him. She concedes she never inherited the Wood Release her grandfather wielded, and that he may indeed have surpassed her at healing arts since he needed no hand seals to do it. Even so, she tells Madara he blundered twice: once in taking her for weak, and again in assuming she received nothing from her ancestor. What she carries, she says, runs deeper than raw strength. It is the Will of Fire, and she warns him not to underestimate it.

Sasuke pursues Itachi, and the brothers clash with opposing Susanoo while conversing. A regenerating Madara identifies Tsunade as a Senju and belittles her as weak and empty of Hashirama's gifts.

Tsunade rebuffs Madara, pointing out his two errors and asserting that her true inheritance is the Will of Fire rather than kekkei genkai or power.
