Summary
Shigure of Amegakure opens his assault, yet every strike glances off the automatic barrier of sand encircling Gaara. Watching from cover, Kiba catches the coppery reek of old blood clinging to the defense. Gaara answers by wrapping his attacker in sand and squeezing until Shigure is dead, borrowing one of the man's own umbrellas so the spray never reaches his skin. Shigure's two comrades try to trade away their scroll for mercy, but Gaara finishes them exactly as he finished their leader.

With the whole Amegakure squad wiped out and his bloodlust still unsatisfied, Gaara turns toward the hiding place of Team 8, hungry for more killing.
