The sixth Naruto film and third of the Shippūden run, The Will of Fire opens as kekkei genkai ninja vanish across the great villages. A rogue named Hiruko threatens a new world war, and Kakashi walks toward sacrifice while Naruto races to save him.
Naruto Shippūden the Movie: The Will of Fire is the sixth Naruto film overall and the third of the Shippūden era, released in Japan in August 2009 and in North America in October 2012. Puffy AmiYumi performs the theme, Dareka Ga.
Bloodline-wielding ninja begin disappearing from Kumo, Iwa, Kiri, and Suna, raising the spectre of a fresh war. Team Kakashi's investigation leads to Mount Shumisen, where chimera-like beasts attack them. The culprit, a rogue named Hiruko, projects himself across the sky of the five great villages, announcing that he has stolen four bloodlines with his Chimera Technique and intends to claim a fifth to become immortal, all while framing Konoha and declaring the Fourth Shinobi World War.
With other nations massing at the Land of Fire's borders, the Fire Daimyō orders Tsunade to prove Konoha's innocence or see the village destroyed. Hiruko then invades Kakashi's dreams, activating a puppet curse he planted years earlier to steal the Sharingan. To protect the village, Kakashi lets himself be taken, first asking Tsunade to place a seal that will trigger Kamui when Hiruko tries to absorb him.
Naruto refuses to abandon his mentor and, with Sakura and Sai, chases after him despite being branded a threat. The rest of the Konoha 11 try to stop the pair, then peel off one by one to hold back Hiruko's minions, Ichi, Ni, and San, who eventually merge into a single massive chimera. Gaara, recovering after his own ambush, intercepts Naruto and challenges his idealism, only to be won over by his conviction.
Naruto reaches the temple as Hiruko begins the absorption under an eclipse, but Kakashi's Mangekyō Sharingan activates and Naruto tears him free with multiple Rasengan. Hiruko survives, deploying his four stolen bloodlines, and gains the upper hand until Naruto unleashes Wind Release: Rasenshuriken against his chest, a technique too complex for Hiruko to absorb. The blow proves fatal, and the merged chimera is finished off by Tenten's explosive tags.
In his last moments Hiruko, restored to his true form, asks what he did wrong. Kakashi tells him he leaned only on stolen strength instead of trusting comrades, and Hiruko dies seeing visions of the old friends who would have stood by him. Gaara calls off the Suna army, war is averted, and Kakashi reflects that Naruto has already surpassed him.
First previewed alongside the Three-Tails' Appearance arc, the film was later shown with French subtitles at Japan Expo 2009. It appeared in ani-manga and light novel forms, the novel again by Masatoshi Kusakabe. It stands out as the only Naruto movie in which the Nine-Tails' chakra is neither used nor mentioned, and as the sole Shippūden film to introduce no new Rasengan variant.

We ranked the six most popular women of Naruto from worst to first, and our number one is going to start a fight. The official poll got it wrong....

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
