Appearance

Of average height, this scientist lets his blond hair fall well past his shoulders. Yellow and black make up his vest, beneath which he wears slack white trousers and dark boots. Personality

Clever as he is in the laboratory, Bürst cannot master his own temper. The pride he places in being a man of science feeds his contempt for pirates and for the Marines alike. Left unchecked, his anger can swell into rampages capable of flattening entire islands once the Nito Nito no Mi is brought into play. He thinks only of himself and shows no mercy, having gladly turned his brother Bonbon's powers against Nami to seize and brainwash her. Vain and scheming, he chases a single ambition, to rule the world by means of science, and he will dominate or wound whoever he must to reach it. Others have hailed him as a genius, and it was even said that, were his character not so flawed, he might truly conquer the world.

History

Reasoning that Nami was the most scientifically fitting partner for him, Bürst set out for Marriage Greenland to take her as his bride and sent his two younger siblings ahead to capture her. They snatched her away, drawing the pursuing Straw Hat Pirates into the chase, and Bürst met the crew with a barrage of nitro explosives produced by his fruit. The Straw Hats banded together with Cavendish, Bartolomeo, Abdullah, Kin'emon, and Jeet to mount a rescue, and Brook slipped into the wedding disguised as the officiant to wreck the ceremony. The intrusion enraged Bürst, who erupted into a rampage and reshaped himself into a colossal dragon of nitro. With Sabo arriving to back up the crew, the villain fell alongside his brothers: Luffy landed Red Hawk as Sabo followed through with Hiken, the paired strikes finishing them. Bürst was then confined within Impel Down, reappearing afterward among Balzac's Prisoner Unit in the 2019 staging.
