As Ace faced execution at Marineford, Cands led his crew in to back the Whitebeard Pirates' rescue, his ship pulling in among the allied vessels. He surfaced once more when Aokiji froze Jozu and when Koby flung himself between Akainu and the Whitebeard side, seen only from the back, and he pulled out after Shanks turned up to halt the war. Sharing a giraffe motif with Kaku and Hamlet, he had his name rendered as "Cans" in the seventh popularity poll.
