Appearance

Lively and small, Chimney keeps her green hair in braided pigtails that jut upward and puff out at the tips, paired with sandals and a short white shirt layered over a striped orange-and-red dress. The manga's own coloring differs slightly, giving her a light blue shirt and a yellow-and-green dress. Two years on, she has grown taller and taken to a conductor's outfit, complete with a tall Kokoro-style hat, a coat slung over her shoulders, gloves, and a whistle.

Personality

Bubbly, restless, and hungry for adventure, Chimney wears a broad grin almost constantly, much like her grandmother. She is carefree and bursting with curiosity, yet still very much an innocent child who simply trails after Kokoro, Luffy, or whoever happens to be close by.

History

Her bloodline runs from Kokoro, a mermaid who wed a human; their half-mermaid son also married a human, leaving Chimney three-quarters human and one-quarter mermaid. Though she shows none of the physical traits, she swims superbly and proves surprisingly tough, walking away with only a nosebleed when Rocketman smashed into the bridge at Enies Lobby, and her eyesight is sharp enough to spot Luffy at great distances. She took to the Straw Hats at once upon meeting them at the Shift Station, then stowed away with Gonbe aboard Rocketman to reach Enies Lobby, where she trailed Lucci and Spandam and painted a trail along the walls to guide the crew, even leading Luffy to the door he shattered with Gear Third. When Lucci flooded the escape tunnel, Kokoro revealed her mermaid form and carried the group to safety, and after several narrow rescues by Sanji they all escaped aboard the Going Merry, later attending the ship's funeral. Back in Water 7 she learned to her shock that Garp was Luffy's grandfather and Dragon his father, then saw the crew off once the Thousand Sunny was built. Following the timeskip she became the Sunday stationmaster of the Shift Station.
