Appearance

Modest in stature by giant standards, all nine wear a uniform baseball theme. Each one dresses in a short-sleeved jersey of white and red over white baseball trousers, brown sandals, and a black cap stamped with the red Marine logo, with brown earphones at the sides. Shoulder plates are chained to armor circling the midsection, and their faces sit behind metal masks fitted with silver jaw guards and burgundy framing around the eyes.

Personality

The members reveal little beyond their duty. They carry out whatever their captain commands and grow hostile the instant a foe appears, fighting with plain aggression and nothing more.

History

Kept aside for emergencies as the tower's last resort, the Giant Nine were turned loose by Trap after the Straw Hat Pirates slipped free of Trap Tower. As the Thousand Sunny wound down the outdoor slide, they swung their spiked clubs and kept whiffing, unable to land a hit on the ship despite being quick enough to chase it and strong enough to tear chunks out of the tower. Most of the first seven were bypassed; No. 8 took Usopp's Goren Kayaku Boshi to the face, and Luffy floored No. 9 with his Gomu Gomu no Jet Gatling. No. 1 made a final attempt to strike, only to catch a Coup de Burst in the head that sent him reeling backward and flung his club into the air. The weapon arced up, struck the side of Trap Tower, and toppled the whole structure.
