Personality

Carelessness defines God, most plainly when he botched the spelling of the name he meant to strike down, endangering hundreds of shoppers in a department store. He tried to fix the error but had no real plan for saving anyone, and he had earlier been negligent enough to misplace the Eraser of Fate, the sole tool able to undo his pen. He disapproves of crimes such as pickpocketing and is inclined to kill habitual offenders. He also wields his authority without hesitation, ordering Bran to repair the mistake with little concern for whether Bran might fail and perish alongside the others.

History

God roams both heaven and the mortal world freely, unbound by natural law, and shows considerable physical strength, gripping Bran by the neck with notable force. His central power is the Pen of Fate, a quill whose every written word becomes reality even against the laws of nature, letting him kill anyone or vast numbers of people simply by writing it, with only the lost Eraser of Fate able to reverse what it has written. After watching the human Bran pickpocket yet again, God decided the thief should die and wielded the Pen of Fate to drop a meteorite onto his home, only to misspell the target as Branchi, a sprawling department store, instead. He recorded several events that would befall Bran, descended to the world, seized him, and handed over his notebook. Once everything in the notebook had come to pass, God revealed the pen's power and showed Bran the doomed Branchi, offering to spare everyone there in trade for Bran's survival. Bran refused at first but relented under threat of death.

Summoned into Branchi a minute before the strike, God wondered whether things would turn out fine and puzzled over Bran's actions involving young Yoshio. Bran returned the Pen of Fate he had pickpocketed, and God watched, impressed, as Bran and Yoshio leapt from the building and reached the ground unharmed. Back in heaven, he realized Bran had used the pen to guarantee their safe landing.
