Lean of build, Gulf has a thin black goatee, a sharp nose, slender brows, and eyes set in a narrow squint. A burgundy bandana covers his head, and he matches it with burgundy cargo trousers held up by a brown belt and silver buckle. Over his chest he wears a short-sleeved shirt patterned in two shades of mottled green.

The game offers little explicit detail about his temperament, though his actions sketch a man devoted to his craft and ambitious enough to chase a career-defining commission. His warmth toward Emily and his gratitude to those who rescue him paint him as sincere and appreciative.

Roughly a month before the events of One Piece Odyssey, Gulf accepted what looked like a lucrative commission, certain it would launch his career. The job turned out to be bait laid by a mafia outfit, and he was seized and dragged underground. Locked away in a sewer hideout, he was made to manufacture imitation jewels alongside other captured jewelers.

His ordeal ended when the Straw Hat Pirates stormed the mafia's lair to free him. Once back at Emily's side, he expressed his thanks to the crew for the rescue.
