A minor hand among the Alvida Pirates, Heppoko is one of three triplet brothers, the others being Peppoko and Poppoko. He shows up at the very start of the series at the crew's Goat Island base, where they first run into Luffy.
With tanned skin and a strikingly broad forehead under cropped black hair, Heppoko sports a black mustache and goatee around his mouth. His outfit is a simple green shirt with short sleeves.
True to his thuggish look, Heppoko takes pleasure in bullying the meek, low-ranking Koby. Alvida frightens him, and when she caught him idling he hurried to claim he had not been, well aware that loafing is something she despises. Like everyone else on the crew, he calls her beautiful only as a way to keep her iron mace at bay.
Heppoko swung a sword at Luffy, only for the weapon to break apart. The non-canon game One Piece King Battle instead portrays him as a capable blade fighter, equipped with moves such as a high leaping downward slash, a chain of ten rapid cuts, a powerful airborne strike, and a charging hundred-slash rush. His recorded history is short. Word of a newly installed Warlord reached Alvida while he stood among the crew, and in the Romance Dawn events he, his brothers, and Koby found Luffy stowed inside a barrel they assumed was full of wine. The waking Luffy struck Heppoko and burst out, and once Alvida had been beaten the brothers gave Luffy and Koby a boat as commanded. The anime moved Heppoko to a separate scene, slotting a different crewman into the barrel moment in his place.

When I first decided to commit to watching One Piece seriously, I knew I was embarking on one of anime's longest and most beloved series. With over 100...

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
