Ko the Landslide heads the Laotour Bandits and stands as a major friend to Luffy's crew throughout a One Piece treasure-hunt video game set around the Nanatsu Islands. A gruff yet tender old axeman, he carries guilt over a child he once harmed named Simon.
Ko stands tall and aged, his skin darkened by the sun, with a large nose and a jutting lower lip. Cropped white hair sits above a face wearing a white beard and mustache. His outfit runs to a fur-trimmed sleeveless blue top, black slacks, and brown boots, rounded off by a neckerchief plus a blue bandana bearing a jolly roger. At his waist hangs a sizeable axe.
Though he can seem severe on first meeting, Ko turns gentle and warm toward those he counts as friends. Two odd habits mark him: nodding off mid-conversation, and breaking into sudden shouts for no clear reason. He bickers constantly with his associate Hei, showing him a measure of disrespect that sparks their frequent rows. His view of Luffy began sour, dismissing the boy as a pest, but the two warmed to one another after only a short talk, and he grew worried for the young pirate when Vivi was taken.
Back in his rookie days, Ko triggered an accident that badly injured a boy called Simon, and to keep the child alive he fed the boy the Pasa Pasa no Mi. Long afterward, when Hei led the Straw Hats into the gang's hideout, Ko lay snoring on a couch; he stirred, fell to arguing with Hei, dozed off, then woke again to speak with the crew. Once the pirates had patched up their ship, he talked with Luffy about a flock of birds drifting over the hideout. The moment Din snatched Vivi, Ko burst in demanding to know what had happened, only for Luffy's shout to leave him at a loss for words.
When the crew came back with their vessel wrecked by Gad, they asked Ko and his bandits for help, and he agreed. He later traveled to Nu island to face Simon at the temple, pleading with him not to unleash the Shushibaruba. There he confessed that Simon was no creature special from birth but a Devil Fruit user he had rescued years before. Furious, Simon pressed on, and after his defeat he gave himself up to merge with the Shushibaruba, sending Ko fleeing the temple. With the creature finally beaten, Ko and his gang bid the Straw Hats their goodbyes.

When I first decided to commit to watching One Piece seriously, I knew I was embarking on one of anime's longest and most beloved series. With over 100...

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
