Personality

Although only a little of her nature was shown, Magnolia seemed gentle and romantic, loving Garling sincerely and never abandoning the hope that he would come back to God Valley. History

Forty years in the past, Magnolia encountered Figarland Garling when he paused at God Valley while traveling. She fell in love with him and conceived during his stay, and after nine months she delivered twin sons, Shanks and Shamrock. A year afterward she reunited with Garling, joyfully presenting him to his children and asking him to make a home with them. He turned her down, warned that God Valley would soon be wiped out, and cut her down with his sword before going off to ready himself for the Native Hunting Competition. It was the Marine Monkey D. Dragon who discovered the dying Magnolia, and with her last breaths she pleaded that he place the twins with a kind-hearted person so they would grow into good men, then she passed. Dragon would ultimately lose the boys, yet her wish was partly granted through Shanks, who was raised by the Roger Pirates into a caring man, while Shamrock fell into the hands of the Knights of God and came to mirror his father.
