Nick

Slender and of ordinary stature, Nick keeps his green hair combed flat against his head, and rectangular spectacles frame his round eyes above a squared-off jaw. His complexion is fair. For clothing he favors layered formal wear: a buttoned white shirt under a pale green vest, finished with a dark green coat and a brown neckerchief at the throat. He rounds out the look with white trousers, a brown belt, and cuffed brown shoes.

Years of dedicated study have made Nick a walking reference on Jail Island and many other topics, which is why so many islanders queue outside his door for advice. On one occasion more than forty people waited in line just to consult him. He also refuses to be cowed by force. When a band of pirates pressured him to surrender what he knew, he answered them back and held his ground rather than give in to their threats.

His role surfaces in One Piece: World Seeker. After Luffy clashed with Kuzan and the former Marine brought up a pirate raid from twelve years earlier, Luffy turned to Jeanne for details. Unable to help, she pointed him toward Nick. Steel City turned up empty, with townsfolk waiting in line reporting that he had gone missing the previous day. Luffy tracked him to Konko Plaza, where pirates had trapped him and were demanding he join them and reveal where the island's treasure lay. Nick stood firm and was threatened for it until Luffy drove the attackers off. With the danger gone, Nick recounted that the raiders had wanted the Dyna Stones, that the islanders eventually surrendered them, that Jeanne's mother died in the clash, and that Isaac had been absent from the island until two years prior. Having shared everything he knew, he headed back to Steel City.
