Appearance

Bald, muscular, and of fairly average height, Ohm has lightly tanned skin and the small back wings common to Birkans, which reach nearly to his waist. A thin mustache and beard frame his mouth, and tiny sunglasses sit over his eyes. He dresses in a green sleeveless top, gray pants studded with pockets, dark leather boots wrapped in bandages, and a long white sash at the waist echoing the one his master Enel wears. His look held steady over the years, save for a polka-dotted shirt he once favored eight years prior.

Personality

Calm and grave, Ohm often turns philosophical about the human condition. He holds that people are driven to endlessly war with one another in pursuit of happiness, even though true happiness springs from peace, and that their fragile bodies are simply torn apart by such strife. This bitter contradiction moves him to genuine sorrow, sometimes to tears, and convinces him that wiping out humanity would be its only real salvation.

For all that grief, he is staggeringly arrogant, taking enormous pride in the flawless lethality of his Ordeal of Iron. He sneers at challengers, reserves special scorn for his fellow priests, and seizes any chance to flaunt his strength, going so far as to lay out exactly how his abilities and his Ordeal function to the very opponents facing them.

History

Among the four priests serving Enel, Ohm sat just below the false god himself in rank, his power described as unimaginable. He fought with Milky Dials and an Eisen Dial that conjure Iron Cloud, a substance as hard and sharp as iron yet able to drift and reshape like a cloud. Paired with his Mantra, the Sky Island name for Observation Haki, this let him predict and dodge attacks while striking foes from great distances. His main weapon, the Eisen Whip, is a sword whose Iron Cloud blade he can stretch, widen, or reshape at will, and he could trade blows with Gan Fall and press the swordsman Zoro hard. As a skybreeder he also trained his massive dog Holy to fight at a near-human level alongside him.

His signature trial, the Ordeal of Iron, boasted a perfect zero-percent survival record until Zoro. Hidden pressure plates triggered Dials that instantly grew barbed Iron Cloud wire to impale victims, and he could raise a barbed cage called the White-Barbed Iron Deathmatch while hacking at trapped opponents with his sword. Six years ahead of the story's opening, Enel together with God's Army had crossed over from Birka, taking hold of Upper Yard and installing Enel as the god of Skypiea.

When trespassers and the Shandia guerrillas stirred Upper Yard, Ohm and Holy joined the other priests in pursuit, clashing with Wyper before Enel intervened. As both the Straw Hats and the Shandia stepped up their assault, Ohm made camp atop Giant Jack inside the Upper Ruins of Shandora. Sensing Chopper through his Mantra, he cut the fleeing reindeer down from afar, then found himself in a five-way standoff as Wyper, Gan Fall, Zoro, and the snake Nola converged. Focusing on Zoro, he sliced him with Iron Cloud, sprang his barbed-wire trap, and finally sealed everyone in the White-Barbed Iron Deathmatch. Zoro rose despite his wounds, deflected the Eisen Whip in a moment that stunned Ohm, and felled the priest with Hyakuhachi Pound Ho through a stone wall. Enel's lightning soon leveled the Upper Ruins, dropping the unconscious Ohm to the city below, and the Shandia later sentenced him, Satori, and Shura to Cloud Drifting.
