Roba

Small in stature and advanced in years, Roba dabs red blush and lipstick across a faintly wrinkled face. Her puffy light tan hair sits in twin curls topped by a purple bow on either side. She accessorizes with a string of blue pearls and dresses in a black and purple gown patterned with green markings.

Roba is markedly fainthearted, having stowed away inside a chest when a storm struck the vessel she sailed on, and she descends into outright panic when the Straw Hats discuss tossing her overboard. She balances that timidity with a firm sense of honor. Speaking of the island's fabled treasure, she confesses she has never laid eyes on it yet remains certain it is real. She also shoulders blame for her son, insisting his greed and ambition are her own fault.

The Straw Hat Pirates discover Roba shut inside a chest near the film's opening. She begs Luffy and his crew to ferry her back to Karakuri Island, dangling the promise of a legendary island treasure as their reward. Though Ratchet is her son, she rejects his plan to seize control of the giant sea turtle and rule the world, and her repeated attempts to talk him down land her imprisoned in the castle dungeon alongside the Straw Hats. After Ratchet is finally beaten, she disciplines him with a spanking.
