Yoko

Yoko has brown hair held by a yellow clip and wears a Marine cap turned backward. Her outfit pairs a pink shirt with beige-yellow shorts, draped over with the cape of the Marines, and a black messenger bag slung across one shoulder. The uniform once belonged to her deceased father, a Marine she idolizes.

Losing her father to a pirate raid left Yoko with a burning hatred of pirates, and she initially buys wholesale into the Marines' Absolute Justice, branding every pirate as evil. That conviction softens only after she spends time with the Straw Hats. She refers to herself with the masculine pronoun ore and has a quirk of biting the heads of anyone who irritates her.

Yoko was raised by a Marine father who chose to defend Little East Blue single-handedly. Five years before the story he died, leaving her alone, and in her grief she donned his uniform and claimed his duty as the island's protector. Three years later she crossed paths with Boss, a huge fire-breathing beetle whose raw power recalled her father's strength, and the two became inseparable defenders of the island. Because pirates had taken her father, she alone among the locals refused to welcome the Straw Hats, certain they meant harm. Watching how fiercely the crew fought to shield both Boss and her home eventually turned her around, and she gave them a warm send-off as they departed.
