Zaraza is a non-canon bandit chief who haunts the Sandy Desert of the Arabasta Kingdom in One Piece Odyssey. Posing as a helpful guide, he distracts travelers while his gang plunders their belongings.
Lean and fair-skinned, Zaraza has a squared-off jaw, thin brows, a narrow nose, and slitted eyes set beneath swept-back brown hair. A brown mustache sits above his lip. His desert garb layers a striped yellow and red headband with a yellow and brown v-neck top, a beige robe lined in dark green, a maroon cardigan, and a green spotted sash.
Years spent in the dunes have made Zaraza an expert on the desert, knowledge he turns against newcomers who do not share it in order to rob them. He also carries a signature laugh, written as Smehehehe and adapted to Fafafa in the English release.
Zaraza waited by the Nanohana approach to the Sandy Desert when the Straw Hats asked him the way to Rainbase. Realizing they had never crossed the desert, he played the friendly guide and warned them of bandits, only for his own crew to strike. The pirates scattered the attackers easily, but amid the chaos Zaraza and his men made off with their supplies. Anticipating pursuit, he left a decoy band at the eastern wall and retreated to his western hideout, but the Straw Hats beat the decoy, learned his location, and came after him. He fought back and even summoned a Desert Bananawani he had an arrangement with, yet the crew downed both his gang and the beast and reclaimed their food along with his hoard. He admitted he would likely abandon banditry, since the Bananawani had been the only thing keeping his men in line. In the Arabasta Memoria ruled by Crocodile, Zaraza instead keeps Navi Birds, losing them to a Juracho attack before the Straw Hats find him collapsed near Nanohana and help recover the birds.
