Episode 147 has Luffy hold Zoro back from striking Bellamy, then meet Blackbeard, who affirms that the sky island is real. Leaving Mock Town, the crew runs afoul of Masira's brother Shoujou, a second salvage ape with a destructive voice.
Bellamy keeps pummeling Luffy and Zoro while the bar crowd jeers that dreamers have no place in their town. Nami seethes that the two will not retaliate against opponents they could easily crush. Once Bellamy tires of them and has them thrown out, Sarquiss tries to recruit Nami, who scornfully refuses to join such a crew of weaklings. As she leads Luffy away, a voice calls out that the sky island truly exists. It is Blackbeard, who praises their restraint, dismisses Bellamy's talk of a new era as garbage, and tells Luffy that pursuing the summit will bring battles fists alone cannot win before wishing him luck in reaching Skypiea.
Back at the ship the others ask why the pair returned so battered, and Nami, still furious, snaps that she no longer cares about the sky island after the whole bar mocked her. Robin hands Luffy a map, noting it came from a man cast out for speaking of his dreams. On the way to find him the crew encounters Shoujou, who boasts about awaiting an invitation to the Seven Warlords now that Crocodile has been removed, then demands a toll for crossing his waters. When Usopp links the demand to Masira and Luffy admits they roughed his brother up, Shoujou erupts and unleashes his Havoc Sonar, wrecking his own vessel along with the Merry as the Straw Hats flee beyond his voice.
