The Battle is on! At Conchcorde Plaza!

Episode 551 of the One Piece anime opens on the devastation from Hody Jones's reinforced water shot. Both court ministers lie badly wounded, and Neptune watches in despair as his guards are scattered. Once the Minister of the Left stirs again, he grieves how near the island had come to Queen Otohime's dream of living peacefully beside humans, then begs the heavens for a rescuer before his king can be killed.

Within the district where the fish-men live, Vander Decken IX weeps over Shirahoshi's refusal and snaps at his crew, going so far as to shave his scalp bald in his misery. Vengeful thoughts surface, but he recalls that Luffy still shields the princess. His gaze then lands on the colossal ship nearby, and a deranged laugh escapes as a scheme to topple everything comes to him.

Mounted on their beasts, the pirates arrive to find Neptune's remaining riflemen demanding their king's release. Neptune urges his men to run rather than throw their lives away, yet Ikaros Much orders the sea-bear into a charge. The soldiers' fire shatters the bubble holding the creature up, and its falling bulk crushes and scatters them as the officers ring the plaza on every side. Beyond the locked gates, civilians clamber up the walls to glimpse only the army's ruin and their bound king at the center.

At the same time, Jinbe finally leaves the Sea Forest with Shirahoshi and Megalo, asking Camie to look after Hatchan. A wounded soldier tries a suicide rush, but Hody cuts him short with a water blast that rips straight across the plaza. The three princes then burst through the gate, and Fukaboshi brands Hody's group the most pitiful on the island while calling his people toward a future unchained from inherited hatred. Powered by Energy Steroids, the brothers down the drugged beasts with ease, only for the officers to swarm and beat them senseless as their father looks on, powerless.

The adaptation reworks a few manga beats. Originally the ministers and their men were felled by a sea beast, but here the crippling blow comes from Hody himself. Decken's talk with his crew, set in Hody's hideout on the page, instead plays out aboard the Flying Dutchman. The princes' clash, hinted in the manga as having gone their way at first, is shown as a fast defeat, which produces a continuity slip with the next episode. Surume is missing despite his manga appearance, and this entry debuts Sanji's post-timeskip eyecatcher.
