Summary

Riding Kanjuro's drawn dragon up the elephant's hind leg, the Straw Hats and their companions cheer the tiring beast onward after it slides back to the Sunny, and Usopp christens it Ryunosuke. As they climb, Kin'emon and Kanjuro explain that Zou was their planned destination out of Wano Country, where they hoped to find Momonosuke and their lost ninja comrade Raizo, sparking the male pirates' fascination with ninja. A plummeting monkey named Bariete then knocks the distracted samurai clean off Ryunosuke, though they call up that they are fine and urge the others ahead.

Key Events

Near the summit Luffy dozes off, loses his grip, and tumbles away; Usopp grabs only his backpack before Luffy catches Ryunosuke's horns, nearly dragging the dragon off the leg until a final desperate effort secures its hold. The riders reach Zou at last, only for Ryunosuke to revert to a flat drawing, mourned by all except Zoro and Law. Passing through a wrecked gateway into the Mokomo Dukedom, the crew finds an abandoned, heavily damaged city scented with gunpowder. Luffy wanders off alone while a rabbit mink named Carrot ambushes the others, dueling Zoro until a canine mink riding a crocodile-like steed halts her, and Usopp realizes with a shock that the newcomer is wearing Nami's top.

Notes

The anime extends the climb with new beats, including Ryunosuke slipping down the leg and Luffy's near-fatal fall, plus a longer conversation about Raizo's abilities. When Carrot uses Electro against Zoro, the anime omits the visible electricity seen radiating from her paw in the manga. The Mokomo Dukedom, Carrot, Wanda, and others make their debuts.
