Gameplay

As a direct sequel to Unlimited Adventure, the game keeps the blend of exploration, combat, and puzzle solving. The Thousand Sunny serves as a home base while the crew sails out to a set of islands, and the design carries forward the item gathering and traversal ideas of the earlier Wii title.

The Straw Hats reach seas watched over by a mysterious ancient civilization, and the plot centers on a large mystic tree. This first episode opens a single storyline that is completed in Episode 2 rather than resolving on its own.

Ganbarion develops the game and Bandai Namco Games publishes it. It launches in Japan on September 11, 2008, then reaches Europe in June 2009 and Australia shortly after, but skips North America. A combined version later appears on the Nintendo 3DS as Unlimited Cruise SP.
