Mont Blanc Family

Rooted in the North Blue, the Mont Blanc Family carries a heritage of over 400 years that traces back to the notorious so called liar, Mont Blanc Noland. Only two of its members have appeared so far, Noland himself and Mont Blanc Cricket, though Noland fathered at least one child and Cricket spoke of countless relatives who sailed off and were never seen again. The clan also bears a chestnut motif, a nod to the dessert that shares its name.

The family's story is one of disgrace and the stubborn wish to undo it. Four centuries ago Noland served as an admiral to King Aruyutayan V of Lvneel before he lost his standing and was put to death for supposedly inventing the City of Gold, Shandora. The storybook Liar Noland blackened his memory, and the Mont Blancs were driven from Lvneel into 400 years of ridicule. Strikingly, they never despised Noland, knowing him within the family to be an honest man, and many perished at sea trying to prove him right.

Mont Blanc Cricket, who came to loathe both his bloodline and Noland, turned pirate to escape the burden but washed up on Jaya twelve years ago and resolved to settle the matter for good. Through the efforts of the Straw Hat Pirates, Cricket finally learned that his ancestor had spoken the truth, vindicating the very name the family had carried in shame.
