Summary

Sanji uses Diable Jambe to scorch away the thorns binding Robin, setting her loose, as Loki lowers the injured parents and children at the Western Village. That lets Jarul send word across Elbaf that the kids are safe, resolving the hostage crisis. Furious everyone survived, Sommers resolves he can still drag the children to Mary Geoise once he disposes of their parents, but the children plant themselves in front of the adults, vowing to shield them this time. Twisted emotion overtakes him and he abandons the mission outright, firing his thorns purely to kill, only for Zoro to cut them down in midair.

Key Events

Luffy leaps skyward, seizes a bolt of Loki's lightning, sheathes his arm in it, and shatters Sommers with the Gear Fifth technique Dawn Thor Rifle, the blast dissolving the thorns around the children. As Ripley faints calling him the Warrior of Liberation, Loki crushes the knight's remains. Watching from a distance, Gaban recalls the day Harald died, when Jarul revealed to him and Shanks that Loki had eaten the Nidhöggr-model Ryu Ryu no Mi, a fruit that turns its user into the largest dragon alive, its scale tied to the eater so that only an Ancient Giant unlocks its full might. Jarul also recounted that Ragnir went untouched not from its power but because the hammer itself forbade it.

Notes

Per the legend, a Warrior God once wielded Ragnir as a personal weapon and ate the fruit before Loki, fighting the Sun God alongside Ratatoskr, the ice squirrel, which nested inside the hammer once its former master died, awaiting a return, and has now chosen Loki. The chapter confirms Sommers' thorns can be undone by heat. Loki obliterates the fleeing MMAs with a lightning breath he calls Thorheim, and in the Holy Land Imu seethes upon realizing the legendary fruit had been on Elbaf the whole time. The installment is part of the Elbaf Arc, its cover granting a request of Sabo covered in clinging koala babies.
