Chapter 60

Gin vows to do Sanji the honor of ending his life personally, a threat the cook shrugs off entirely. Luffy is equally unbothered, refusing to picture defeat in front of a crew like Krieg's. The Krieg Pirates, who fancy themselves the mightiest force in East Blue, take the boys' nerve as an insult and rush them, only for their captain to halt them. When Krieg presses Luffy on who is strongest, Luffy answers without hesitation that the title belongs to him.

To drive home the gulf between them, Don Krieg reaches for one of his deadliest tools, the poison gas MH5, and launches the bomb at the floating restaurant. Luffy tries to swat it back, but the projectile turns out to be a shuriken bomb rather than a gas canister. Pierced by the sharp stakes, Luffy concedes he was fooled yet keeps insisting he is the strongest present. As his temper flares, Krieg hands Sanji off to Gin and announces he will handle Luffy himself.

The two central confrontations of the Baratie standoff begin here, Sanji squaring off with Gin and Don Krieg challenging Luffy directly. The cover page continues the Buggy's Crew Adventure Chronicles serial, where a dazed Richie is crowned the new captain over the beaten Mohji and Cabaji, complete with his own pirate flag.
