In the Fish-Man District, a teenage Hody Jones cheers the Sun Pirates alongside Daruma, Zeo, Dosun, and Ikaros Much, misreading Tiger's mission as a slaughter to prove fish-man supremacy. On the Grand Line, the crew overwhelms a G-2 vessel commanded by Rear Admiral Kadar, and Tiger forbids Arlong from executing the helpless soldiers.

At Marineford, Strawberry reports the sinking to a Vice Admiral Borsalino, noting the fish-men's underwater dominance and unknown identities. Aboard ship, Tiger lectures Arlong that killing humans means lowering themselves to their level; the Sun Pirates fight for liberation, not revenge. Wanted posters arrive, with Tiger bountied at 230 million and Jinbe at 76 million. Three years on, the islanders entrust the crew with Koala, an eleven-year-old ex-slave conditioned to clean endlessly and beg not to be killed. The future New Fish-Man Pirate officers appear as children, idolizing Tiger while completely mistaking his ideals. Tiger openly declares that his crew will never take a human life. Borsalino is shown at Vice Admiral rank, and a younger Strawberry appears. Kadar is the first canon rear admiral to be named. Koala becomes the first human to wear the Sun Pirates' emblem.
