Summary

Inside the mine's Executive Tower, guards confess to vice warden Solitaire that someone with a large face swiped the keys to the prisoners' Seastone cuffs. The culprit, Raizo, bounces through the halls too fast to be seen, eager to free Luffy. Luffy, however, has just kicked vice warden Daifugo, an act that carries a death sentence. Warden Babanuki marvels that Luffy could harm anyone while drained by Seastone, then unleashes an explosive sneeze from his elephant SMILE that stuns him.

Queen is roused from a tent where he ogles a portrait of Komurasaki, oblivious to her passing. After a theatrical song-and-dance, he learns of Kid's escape, the stolen keys, and Luffy's defiance, and orders an immediate capture. In Ebisu Town, Tonoyasu lends Law's group an empty house and reports that Zoro chased after a sword thief, while Sanji has also vanished, presumably toward the baths.

Key Events

At the capital bathhouse, Nami, Robin, and Shinobu relax despite the unisex setting and overhear locals praising the old yakuza. Shinobu recalls Hyougoro as the underworld's beloved figurehead two decades back, a man who commanded five other bosses and earned Oden's respect, yet refused the Kurozumi and was slain by Orochi. Her former superior Fukurokuju instead swore loyalty to Orochi, prompting her departure.

Brought before Queen, Luffy rejects joining the Beasts Pirates, and Queen recognizes the beaten elder as the legendary Hyougoro, mocking his pitiful end. Hyo accepts death but begs that Luffy be spared. As Queen conceives a cruel idea, Raizo discovers the shadowed prisoner behind him is Kawamatsu, who asks after Momonosuke.
