Cyborg

What separates a cyborg from a robot is that a cyborg stays partly alive, blending flesh with machinery, whereas a robot is wholly inorganic. The conversion happens either by fitting cybernetic components into the body or by trading natural parts for artificial ones, and it is open to humans and animals alike.

Underground betting circuits known as Cyborg Fights pit these enhanced combatants against one another for large sums, and entrants there usually alter only their wrists, legs, and eyes. One fighter, Kokou, grew so dominant that nobody would wager money on him, and he was thrown out as a result.

By Kokou's account, most people convert no more than thirty percent of themselves, since pushing past the sixty percent mark carries heavy risk and only a slim chance of surviving the procedure. Child Emperor has also catalogued a set of Mysterious Beings whose disaster levels were raised through such modifications, labeling them Cyborg Monsters.

Known cyborgs span both hero and villain ranks. Genos and Jet Nice Guy serve the Hero Association, while Destro, Elimin, Kokou, and Wavygyaza fight among the Neo Heroes. Armored Gorilla belongs to the House of Takoyaki, and The Rampaging Cyborg operates on its own. Webcomic material adds further names such as Bofoi, Infelsinave, and Zaedats, along with the deceased Enhanced Monster Squad.
