Darkness Blade

Standing tall, this young hero keeps his longish hair in a tousled state and carries an X-shaped scar across his right cheek. Shadowed rings underline his narrow eyes. His outfit is a suit of black armor trimmed with scales and bristling spikes, and a dark belt at his hips holds the scabbard of his sword.

Darkness Blade projects a menacing presence and never doubts his own power. His speech is ornate and dramatic, striving for poetic grandeur, though Red Muffler notes that it mostly comes across as foolish. He proved just as long-winded while boasting about himself during the Hero Costume Contest.

Darkness Blade fights through a string of losing battles. During the Monster Raid he and several heroes fall under Do-S and her mind control, forced to attack Fubuki before the Blizzard Group knocks them out; Tatsumaki later slams him into a wall while he is still enthralled. When a 170,000-Year-Old Cicada Larva menaces Z-City, he charges in with Red Muffler and Grad School Graduate, orders a retreat with a burst of grand but hollow-sounding rhetoric, and the trio limps back to Shelter 7 to jeers from the crowd. He shows up too late to a rampaging monster at the Z-City police station, arriving only after Saitama has already killed it. At the first Hero Costume Contest he earns a middling 16 out of 30 for his overlong, boastful introduction, then is knocked out in a single blow by Game-Berus, his armor smashed apart. Alongside other heroes, he is swatted aside by Jumping Spider after underestimating the creature.

Red Muffler once flagged him as a promising newcomer, and Okame-Chan rated his physical strength above Red Muffler and the upper half of Jumping Spider, yet below A-Class heroes and even a bear. He fights as a swordsman, wielding a black-bladed longsword he calls the Meteor Demon Violent Vibrating Mirror Sword and typically cleaving foes in two, though his technique names run so long that he renames them on every use. His decorated black armor weighs twenty-six kilograms, and he claims added talents in calligraphy and piano.
