Appearance

Kombu Infinity is never shown in full, appearing only as a shadowy outline that suggests a youthful figure. What can be made out includes wide circular eyes and a grin missing a few teeth. Strands of kombu seaweed sprout from its head in place of hair, and its footsteps land with a wet squelch. The body reads as neither clearly male nor female, though the voice that comes out of it is a woman's.

Personality

A menacing streak runs through the creature. It travels toward the rumor of a powerful being purely for the thrill of a fight, and it takes an almost giddy interest in the strength of whoever it faces, savoring the moment they fall. Oddly, it speaks of itself in the plural, using "we" in place of "I".

History

Drawn to Z-City by talk of powerful creatures nesting there, Kombu Infinity runs into two A-Class heroes, Golden Ball and Spring Mustachio. Golden Ball opens with an attack that gets batted away, while a tentacle snakes up through a storm drain, seizes his ankle, and hurls him into a wall, leaving him out of the fight. Spring Mustachio proves harder to pin down, dodging the whipping strands and calling for reinforcements before demanding to know why the monster has come. It explains that it wandered in from elsewhere and, finding no worthy opponent, would simply take on the role of the rumored beast itself.

After eventually wearing Spring Mustachio down, the creature presses deeper into the city and crosses paths with Saitama, who strolls up in a track suit carrying a bag of groceries and mutters that he forgot to buy soup stock. The clash is over in a single second. Other heroes arrive to find a gaping hole punched through a building and a scrap of kombu on the pavement, while Saitama boils the seaweed he tore from the monster's head. Kombu Infinity is last glimpsed weeping, a stub of tentacle all that remains. Its whips, said to rival steel, could deflect blows able to pierce a twenty-millimeter plate, and it moved fast enough to slip past Spring Mustachio's Tomboy.
