When a cluster of robots finally overtakes them, a figure calling himself Stag Beetle Man, who is really Sweet Mask relying on his shapeshifting powers, tears the machines apart and rescues the two. The savior tells Po to train, grow strong, and one day become a hero of his own, and the boy promises he will before being sent on toward safety.
As an ordinary child, Po holds no special powers or heroic gifts of any kind.
