Satoru

Beneath a green cycling helmet and tinted goggles, Satoru turns out to be a plain young man with short brown hair and round glasses that hide his eyes, unremarkable in both height and weight. His gear centers on a suit of brown armor across the torso and shoulders, worn over a black leather bodysuit, and finished off with black gauntlets and knee pads.

Satoru is a fearless and deeply honorable hero who will not let any wrongdoing slide, however small, and refuses to retreat from a fight no matter how hopeless. He is willing to lay down his life to protect innocents, routinely taking on enemies meant for A-Class heroes or higher just to buy time for stronger help to arrive, as he did against the Deep Sea King while other C-Class heroes fled. Painfully aware of his own weakness, he has repeatedly turned down promotion, feeling he has not earned a higher rank.

His sense of justice is genuine and unshakable, and he holds heroes to a high moral standard, trusting that a true hero would never cheat or act dishonorably. He deeply values those who rescue him, once mailing Saitama a heartfelt thank-you note, and he offers sympathy even to villains who seem misguided rather than evil, such as Garou. Insults from higher-ranked heroes roll right off him, and he was perceptive enough to sense Saitama's real power at their very first meeting. In many ways he is Saitama's mirror image, brimming with the drive to be a hero while lacking the strength, where Saitama holds limitless strength but none of the passion.

As the highest-ranked C-Class hero, Satoru qualifies for promotion to B-Class but keeps declining it, and he has held the top C-Class spot for well over half a year. His physical gifts are modest but real. He managed to injure the bulletproof Angry Grandpa, and his endurance and durability are considerable, letting him keep fighting the Deep Sea King through grievous wounds, survive Garou repeatedly slamming his head into the ground, and battle monsters at the hospital while still injured. He fights mostly hand to hand, leaning on his speed, and names his moves after his creed, among them Justice Tackle, Justice Punch, and the bicycle-hurling Justice Crash.

His constant companion is a sturdy utility bicycle nicknamed Justice, tough enough to bear heavy loads at speed and, in a stand-up pedaling mode, to rush him to emergencies far faster at the cost of his stamina. What defines him most is his sheer willpower, closely echoing Saitama's, most visible in his refusal to stop attacking the Deep Sea King despite the hopeless gap between them. In the webcomic he is later offered a custom battle suit by Accel, and choosing to fight on, he grows strong enough to take down a Demon-level threat with one blow.
