Smile Man

A few strands of short brown hair peek out from under his headcover, set on a lean, well-built frame. A red bodysuit and a black mask complete the outfit, with a grinning smiley face stamped onto both the suit and his belt.

Smile Man reads the Hero Association clearly, understanding how its rankings work and what sort of people tend to sign on. He carries himself with humility, caution, and calm, staying unruffled even when the Demon-level Fist Fight Djinn ambushes him. Fittingly for someone so composed, he is noted for never once actually smiling within the story, holding a blank, unreadable expression much like Saitama or Watchdog Man.

As an A-Class hero he is both skilled and strong, credited alongside his brothers with bringing down a Demon-level opponent. His durability lets him weather a strike from Fist Fight Djinn with only moderate harm, while his speed is sharp enough to slip past a freezing attack from the Withered Sprout. His real specialty is the kendama, a giant version topped with a smiley-faced ball that he wields for both offense and defense, every one of his signature moves growing out of tricks with it. Among them are the Round-the-World Beatdown, a sweeping swing that flattens everything nearby, and the World-Shattering Spin, in which he launches the spinning kendama at blistering speed. He puts these to work beside his siblings Angry Man and Crying Man: the trio overcome Macho Radish, then run up against the Withered Sprout, a foe mistaken for a Wolf-level threat that turns out to be Dragon level and leaves all three of them downed until Saitama arrives to kill it. On another occasion he answers McCoy's call to defend the Z-City police station, only to reach the scene after Saitama has already dispatched the monster.
