Spring Mustachio

Lean of frame, he keeps his short black hair swept to the left and wears curled sideburns above a wrinkled face set with yellow eyes. A thick handlebar mustache tops off the look. His outfit runs to a dark green suit and trousers over a white collared shirt, finished with a red bow tie.

Sharp-witted and serious, Spring Mustachio does not back off easily, pressing his fight against Kombu Infinity even after taking a savage beating. He shares a genuine bond with fellow A-Class hero Golden Ball, the two regularly teaming up to hunt monsters and swapping drinks off the clock. Tellingly, he is perfectly happy to sit among the lower A-Class ranks rather than push for a climb.

Nichirin regards his pupil as a gifted swordsman whose blade carries extraordinary piercing force, so extreme that his master cautions him against using it in crowds. His close-range fencing dovetails with Golden Ball's long-range gunplay. Quick on his feet, he can clear a city block in a handful of bounds and slip past Kombu Infinity's tentacles, and his slashes come fast enough to drive Garou skyward; his cuts shear cleanly through concrete and metal.

Trained as one of Nichirin's top fencers, he parries at blistering speed and opens from a fencing Salute stance. His secret Tomboy thrust coils the foil in on itself like a spring before firing it forward far past its normal reach, enough to bore through a distant telephone pole, while the Tomboy Barrage links such thrusts into a series whose penetrating power is too great to aim sideways near bystanders. His weapon is a cup-hilt rapier forged of spring steel that he stores disguised as a handkerchief tucked in his breast pocket.

Across the story he falls to Kombu Infinity and then to Garou, later joining Nichirin and the Council of Swordmasters against the Monster Association executives, where he shreds Black Sperm's clones and guards his wounded master from Fuhrer Ugly.
