The Extended Family of Darkness

The family is a band of at least eleven devilish humanoids of differing shapes and sizes. Each sports jagged teeth, hooked claws, forked tails, and clusters of eyes, and their hides drink in light so fully that they read as living black silhouettes broken only by the glow of their eyes and fangs. They are intelligent enough to speak, coordinating aloud as they moved to encircle Genos.

Their inner lives go mostly unexplored, but the group name and their habit of acting as one hint at a tight familial loyalty, with the members seeming to look out for each other.

The family materialized without warning in T-City, prompting the Hero Association to brand them a Dragon-level disaster. Genos arrived to confront them, and after a fierce exchange of blows he ended the fight by detonating a blast from his core. The win came at a steep price: the clash tore off his right arm and left him in critical condition, and much of T-City lay in ruins. The monsters fought largely with their own claws and limbs, carving numerous cuts across the cyborg's face before they fell.
