The Extended Family of Darkness

Classified by the Hero Association at the Dragon disaster level, the Extended Family of Darkness gathers at least eleven monsters that share a shadowy, devilish look. Their frames come in assorted shapes and sizes, yet each carries multiple eyes, jagged teeth, hooked claws, and a forked tail.

What sets them apart visually is their coloring. The pigment of their bodies drinks in light so completely that they read as living silhouettes, with only their luminous eyes and bared teeth standing out against the black. They also show a measure of intelligence, since one member is heard calling the others to encircle Genos mid-fight.

The family emerges without warning inside T-City, prompting the Hero Association to brand the swarm a Dragon-tier emergency. Genos reaches the district and engages them, trading strikes with the pack before ending the exchange with a detonation fired straight from his core.

The blast wipes out the group, though victory comes at a steep price. Their claws had raked his face, torn off his right arm, and left the cyborg in critical shape, while much of T-City lay in ruins once the smoke cleared. Beyond leaning on their numbers and fighting hand to hand, little else about their combat methods is documented.
