Chapter 110: Love Evolution

A cluster of monsters reels in disbelief as their wildly different attacks leave Puri-Puri Prisoner untouched, stunned by how much punishment he absorbs. He explains that greeting pain with love lets him weather any strike, dubbing the method Angel ☆ Hug. Seeing their efforts are hopeless, the monsters try to bolt, but the Demon-level Baquma cuts them off, swallowing everyone except Electric Catfish Man and taking their abilities for itself.

Baquma then rains blows on the hero, who stays perfectly calm. When the creature ridicules his twitching, Puri-Puri reveals it as the basis of another style, Vibration ☆ Angel, and plows straight through Baquma to defeat it. Maiko Plasma, who had been devoured, endures and is pulled to safety by Electric Catfish Man.

Soon after, Puri-Puri hears the cries of the inmates who were turned into Mysterious Beings and grieves their fate. Certain they were coerced into serving the Monster Association, he swears to rescue them, brushing aside their attempts to voice how much they loathe him. Nyan breaks in, insisting a human who becomes a monster can never revert, and slashes Puri-Puri badly before leaving the rest to the inmates. Undaunted, the hero declares that anyone whose heart stays human remains human.

He then finds his body sprouting protective hair, which he names Angel ☆ Bristle Armor. Unnerved, Nyan chooses to pawn him off on the executives and slips away through a thin gap. Puri-Puri pursues by inventing Angel ☆ Crawl on the spot, but the effort brings debris down on most of his fellow inmates. He accepts their loss and vows revenge, while a single surviving severed inmate head grumbles at what he has done.

Puri-Puri Prisoner debuts several love-themed techniques and destroys Baquma, whose victims include the surviving Maiko Plasma. Nyan wounds him and declares monster transformation permanent, but Puri-Puri holds to the idea that a human heart preserves one's humanity. His new Angel ☆ Crawl inadvertently buries most of the inmates in rubble.

The one hundred tenth chapter, titled Love Evolution (Rabu Eboryūshon) in both the original and Viz releases, is collected in Volume 23 and adapts into Episode 35. Its earlier title was The Power of Light, and the digital version carried an animated cover by Yusuke Murata. In the first draft the sweater and part of the prison outfit vanished as Puri-Puri killed Baquma with a Vibration Dark ☆ Angel ☆ Rush, then reappeared a page later, an error Murata went back and corrected. A bonus page reveals Raptora and Reptera to be sisters, with Reptera the elder.
