Zenko explains to her brother how she tracked him down, but Metal Bat cuts her off, remembering Elder Centipede is still active and trying to charge back into battle. Worn out from both the centipede and Garou, he is easily dropped when Zenko smacks the back of his head, knocking him unconscious. Phoenix Man spots an opening to finish the hero, only for Sludge Jellyfish to beat him to it, rising from the sewers and announcing his intent to abduct the girl. Garou materializes behind the monster and bursts him with a single punch, growling that he cannot stand being watched. Phoenix Man extends an invitation to the Monster Association, which Garou answers by shredding the card and telling them to get lost. Before departing, Phoenix Man promises another encounter if the hero-hunting continues, and Sludge Jellyfish vows to remember the blow. Garou dismisses them as disgusting.

Elsewhere, Pineapple and Mohican are outclassed by Rhino Wrestler, who ridicules their feeble strikes and touts his own conditioning. Phoenix Man orders a withdrawal, noting the day is not the real event, and directs Rhino Wrestler to grab only the son. The two heroes fail to stop the charge. Elder Centipede scoops up Phoenix Man and Rhino Wrestler and exits through the hole it tore earlier, with Metal Knight's drone clamping onto it as it flees. Meanwhile Heavy Kong wrestles Marshall Gorilla in W-City, Lightning Genji battles Electric Catfish Man and Maiko Plasma in D-City, and demon-level threats strike many other cities at once. As the tournament's opening ceremony gets underway, Saitama readies himself to compete while Genos waits in the crowd to enter the C-City Super Stadium.

Zenko knocks out her injured brother to keep him from rejoining the fight. Garou kills Sludge Jellyfish and rejects Phoenix Man's Monster Association recruitment, tearing up the invitation. Rhino Wrestler defeats Pineapple and Mohican and seizes the sponsor's son, and Elder Centipede carries the raiders away through its tunnel with Metal Knight's robot attached. Coordinated monster assaults erupt across multiple cities as the martial arts tournament begins with Saitama entering and Genos arriving to watch.
