Appearance

A young man marked by green lines across his face, Kuroma wears his grey hair above a pair of small horns and a set of red eyes, all of them signs of his tie to the Genryū, the five dragons he means to rouse. His robe is studded with tags that let him call on the elements, and a large scroll capped by a carved dragon's head rides on his back. A pale green medallion at his belt mirrors the one his younger sister Akari wears at her throat, presumably a shared symbol of the Genryū.

Personality

Vengeance drives Kuroma, who is willing to court any danger to punish those who wronged his clan. Beneath that hardness lies genuine love for his sister; believing her dead, he grieves deeply, and when he learns she survived with her draconic features gone, he finally lets go of his revenge to begin an ordinary life.

History

Kuroma sets out to become the Light Genryū and avenge the world's long persecution of the Ryū clan. He is a formidable and adaptable shinobi, able to draw on all five basic natures through the Sealing Technique: Five Elements and skilled enough in fūinjutsu to raise barriers that nothing can breach save the combined might of the five Genryū. His speed leaves detailed afterimages, he holds his own against Naruto's various transformations, and the elemental tags on his robe let him unleash several natures at once, a trick that even catches Sasuke off guard, along with a subduing black aura.

A Konoha team tracks him to his lair in Mount Koryū's Ritual Hall, where he lays out his aims. Once Naruto gathers the elemental orbs crafted from the dragons' scales and breaks the surrounding barriers, the two clash. Sasuke briefly intervenes, judging Kuroma a threat to his hunt for Itachi, then leaves, and Naruto at last overcomes him in a three-tailed form. Before Kuroma can seize the dragons' power, though, Akari shoves him aside and takes it herself rather than lose him, transforming into the Light Genryū and becoming the final foe. After she is defeated and restored, the siblings discover that their horns and Kuroma's facial markings have vanished, freeing them from their duty as Dragon Guardians, and the two depart together to build new lives.
