Abi

Devoted to her companion Aobire, Abi refuses to give up the search no matter the odds, pressing on even when her parents urge her to let go. Her gratitude runs deep, and she warmly thanks Luffy and Chopper for standing by her until the end.

Before the Aqua Laguna struck Water 7, Abi's family fled to safety but, as always, could not take their Yagara Bull Aobire with them. When they came home the pet had disappeared, and Abi began a long, desperate hunt for him. Haunted by recurring dreams in which Aobire called to her, she grew only more determined, and three days later she spotted Luffy and Chopper wandering the streets. Knowing the crew had rescued Iceburg, she emptied her Yagara Bull piggy bank and asked Luffy for help.

Even with Robin's Hana Hana no Mi aiding the search, the city turned up nothing until Luffy found a scrap of Aobire's muffler. Following the trail of cloth, the three descended into the buried town beneath modern Water 7 and tumbled into a flooded chamber, where Abi finally saw Aobire. The old bull gently refused to come with her, and when Luffy reached for him they realized only Aobire's spirit remained. Nearby they uncovered a baby Yagara Bull wrapped in Aobire's muffler, and the truth came clear: during the storm the old bull had braved the cold to rescue the infant, shielding it with his muffler and dying in the act. Abi resolved to raise the baby herself, and when she tried to reward Luffy he handed the money back so the little one could grow up strong.
