Sakamoto's vs. the Lab is the anime's eighth episode. To rescue the captured Lu, Sakamoto and Shin storm a secret research facility overrun by Kashima's gifted killers, while below ground Lu meets Asakura, someone familiar with Shin from his boyhood.
Learning that Lu was grabbed after being mistaken for Shin, Sakamoto and Shin break into a covert research complex nicknamed the Lab to bring her back. The facility has fallen under the control of a band of killers led by Kashima, and one after another its occupants, many wielding uncanny abilities, throw themselves at Sakamoto.
Down in an underground holding cell, Lu crosses paths with Asakura, who recognized Shin from years earlier. Their meeting hints at pieces of Shin's past he rarely speaks about.
Meanwhile, sensing the fingerprints of the shadowy Slur across the whole affair, ORDER's Shishiba and Osaragi turn their attention toward the same building.
Sakamoto and Shin storm the Lab and battle through Kashima's supernaturally gifted subordinates. Lu, imprisoned below, is introduced to Asakura, a link to Shin's early years.
ORDER begins closing in, with Shishiba and Osaragi investigating the incident. Tada and Namiki make their debuts.
A middle chapter of the Lab Arc, the episode pulls from a run of chapters spanning the twenties. It debuts Tada and Namiki, and introduces Ando in flashback.
Changes from the manga include Sakamoto being told outright how Mad Horiguchi's needle works rather than deducing it, and trimming much of Asakura's exposition about the facility. The opening theme is Hashire Sakamoto and the ending is Futsu. It aired on March 1, 2025.
In Sakamoto Days episode 8, "Sakamoto's vs. the Lab," Sakamoto and Shin storm a secret research facility called the Lab to rescue the captured Lu, fighting through a band of gifted killers led by Kashima. Meanwhile Lu meets Asakura, who recognizes Shin from his childhood, and ORDER's Shishiba and Osaragi begin investigating the incident.
