Shin Asakura

Trim and athletic, Shin stands at a fairly ordinary height for a man his age, with a lean frame that hides real muscle. His hair falls to a medium length in a bright blond, framing wide eyes that the manga inks black and the anime tints blue. When he first turns up he favors street clothes: an unzipped leather jacket over a simple shirt, loose dark trousers, and vivid sneakers. Once he settles into shop life he is most often behind the counter in a buttoned dress shirt, slacks, and the store's green apron, though his off-duty look shifts between jackets and layered long-sleeves over tanks or tees.

Level-headed and plain-spoken, Shin keeps his composure through danger and rarely lets a crisis rattle him, even if petty everyday annoyances can trip him into brief comic flashes of temper or panic. He carries himself with assurance but never tips into arrogance, staying coolly analytical whenever a fight breaks out. He understands exactly what his mind-reading can and cannot do and takes quiet pride in wielding it well. Underneath the calm sits a stubborn will, a loyalty to the people around him, and a genuine regard for life, the combination that keeps him swinging when the odds are stacked against him. Like most who cross his path, he holds Sakamoto in deep esteem.

Physically he is fast, sturdy, and stronger than his build suggests, holding his own against special-recommendation assassins and shrugging off punishment that would fell most fighters.
