Mercury Aqua Mirage

Mercury Aqua Mirage gives Sailor Mercury a water attack that seals an opponent within a rounded body of water, which then ruptures to finish the target. It reaches across the manga, an animated special, Crystal, the stage musicals, and several games, and its manga kanji translates to something like Water Mirage. In time it develops into the stronger Mercury Aqua Rhapsody.

Whether in the manga or Crystal, the sequence begins as Mercury conjures a globe of water that divides into several streams racing toward her enemy. Once those streams strike home, the target is swallowed by a far larger sphere of water that bursts and annihilates whatever it holds. The manga first deploys it against Viluy during the third arc. The anime saved it for the special Ami's First Love, where Super Sailor Mercury used it on Bonnon, its one and only television outing. In the games she raises a rising tornado of water able to catch enemies high or low, though Another Story instead has her fire an exploding beam that strikes every foe for four energy points.

Sailor Mercury commands the move in both her standard and Super forms as Ami Mizuno. The musicals first showcased it to defeat Death Ra, one of the Death Mannetjes, and the Crystal animation was closely retraced from the original Ami's First Love footage.
